Taking care of cows and buffaloes every day and delivering milk from door to door by cycling for 5-6 kilometers in the morning, sometimes rain, sometimes cold but never lost courage. He himself lived in poverty, but did not let any shortfall in his son’s studies.
Father’s hard work and sacrifice became the inspiration for son Krishna Kumar Thakur and today 30 year old Krishna Kumar Thakur has been selected as a scientist in National Institute of Health Washington, a prestigious institute of American Government.
This is the story of Mahesh Thakur and his son Krishna Kumar Thakur, a small farmer of Sahajpuri village, located 3 km from Kanhiwada sub tehsil headquarter of Seoni district.
Doctor K. Of. Thakur did his higher secondary education in Government Higher Secondary School, Kanhiwada. During this, he and his brother Ajay Thakur along with their father Mahesh Thakur used to go door-to-door selling milk, which was the source of income for their family.
The father worked hard day and night so that the promising son should not lack in education. After completing his schooling, Dr. Krishna Kumar Thakur did B. Pharmacy from Bhopal and then passed the GPAT examination and obtained MS degree from NIPER Guwahati.
Due to hard work Dr. Of. Thakur got a place in Ph.D in a reputed institute like IIT Guwahati. After this, now Dr. K.K. Thakur has been selected at the National Institute of Health Washington, a US government institute, and will continue further research here.
Dr. KK Thakur has attributed his success to his father’s hard work and sacrifice. Who still resides in village Sahajpuri along with other family members.
